Ronan Byrne

Ronan Byrne utilizes his background in civil, structural and environmental engineering along with his experience working for a design/builder, to ensure all engineering disciplines and construction activities are coordinated consistently with an owner's program/project objectives.  Mr. Byrne has worked exclusively on aviation terminal projects during his career, and provides clients with industry experience from both the airline perspective and the airport operator perspective.

Mr. Byrne served as a project manager for Southwest Airlines on its $80 million Concourse Program at Long Island MacArthur Airport.  Mr. Byrne coordinated the design activities with the construction manager for the airfield drainage improvements, T-point expansion, apron expansion and site improvements for the concourse building.   In August 2004, Mr. Byrne assisted Southwest Airlines with the opening of the new concourse, including the coordination of all move-in activities for the ISP station operation.

Currently, Mr. Byrne is contributing his expertise as Project Manager for the new $143 million Branson Airport in Branson, MO.  Additionally, Mr. Byrne is working on a number of project initiatives for United Airlines at airports in the Eastern and Midwestern United States; including New York - EWR/JFK, Cleveland, St. Louis, Las Vegas and San Antonio.

Prior to joining VA, Mr. Byrne served as project manager on the $1 billion Midfield Terminal Program at Indianapolis International Airport (IND), primarily responsible for management of all interface points between the $300 million 40-gate terminal complex and the $250 million site civil infrastructure.  He was also a terminal design management team member with responsibility for all MEP design coordination.
